Have you been struggling to get yourself to strength classes because they feel like a punishment?
Have you been avoiding lifting weights because you're not really sure what to do & it's not really fun (at all)?
Would you like to be stronger and see changes in your muscles but all the strength classes or YouTube videos you've tried have terrible music?
I've been there.
Around here, the playlist is everything. And it could be the key to what's been missing for you.
* Music is make-or-break for you. If you get to the gym & realize you left your headphones at home, you leave. (Or maybe you avoid the gym altogether.)
* You feel frustrated that you aren't seeing the same results from cardio that you did initially
* You feel intimidated or overwhelmed by weights (what to do, where to start)
* You know you "should" do strength training but it's just not as much fun as dance workouts, so you don't do them with any consistency.
* You do a weights or HIIT class occasionally but when you do it just feels like a punishment. And the playlists are generic and uninspired.
* You want to know you're getting the most out of your workout routine so you're not wasting your time.
* Imagine how much more consistent you are now that you've found a workout plan you actually enjoy
* Imagine having clarity & a plan to follow - one less thing to decide on (yes, please!)
* Imagine seeing changes in your physique that you've never seen before (hello shoulders!). You knew that cardio alone couldn't give that to you but you never knew exactly where to start.
* Imagine how confident and accomplished you feel when seeing just how strong you actually are. Imagine what changing that narrative about your body would do for your self-esteem & mental wellbeing (this was a game-changer for me.)
* Imagine feeling completely confident to walk into a gym and know how to do so many new things. You've become addicted to seeing progress & reaching new levels of strength, while still dancing for the enjoyment of it.
This can be your reality.
Hi, I'm Dre.
Dancer. Choreographer. Hanson fan.
I have a degree in dance. I started dancing in my living room since I was 4 years old (some of you have seen the video proof.)
I've been choreographing since I was 10 years old. I would make the girls I babysat do dances out on my front yard to the 1995 GRAMMY nominees CD.
I've been teaching dance fitness for 10+ years. And I've been lifting the weights since 2018. My max deadlift is 265 lbs.
As Mary Oliver once said, "I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing is not necessarily prescribed."
What makes this program different isn't just the playlists.
MadeByDre is a fusion of dance + strength training. There are stand-alone dance workouts as well as themed strength workouts with some dance breaks mixed in. What I've done is take the guess-work and intimidation out of strength training & make it feel more like a dance workout.
Because the program uses progressive overload, it'll keep you challenged from Program 1 all the way to Program 12. It's like a wading pool; all you have to do is go in order.
It is a MUCH more efficient and effective way of training than doing random HIIT workouts. And if you're anything like me, I HATE wasting time. These are intentionally designed to build your strength over time. Changed muscles = changed physique.
Program 1 uses two resistance bands.
Program 2 uses 3 pound weights and a circle "booty band"
Program 3 and beyond use 10 pound dumbbells.
Program 4 and beyond... you may even want a heavier set of weights (read: highly likely!)
That may seem lofty right now, but I can guarantee I've worked with multiple women who felt exactly how you feel right now. They're not sure if that's possible for them.
I can say with full confidence - it is.
You can be the type of person who actually enjoys strength training. AND you can still love dancing!
You'll be surprised how fun the classes are. The playlists aren't just background noise - the moves are choreographed specifically to the songs. You've never done strength training like this.
